Last Day on the snowmobile.....

Good Morning everyone ! It's a beautiful Sunday morning here in Ontario. The skies are bright blue and the sun is shining....mind you its a chilly -18 celcius!! We are just having breakfast and a coffee and then heading out to snowmobile. It will be the first time we get to go close to home. We are just driving out to the countryside where our snowmobiles are stored (out where we used to live) and we can leave from there. There's finally enough snow around here so we dont have to drive 2+ hours north to where the trails are nicely covered in fluffly white stuff. This will be my last trip of the season as i leave next saturday for Cuba !!! whooohoooo !! so excited ! It will be my first 'winter' trip in over 20 years. ( a long time ago i went to florida for Christmas...) Super excited about Cuba. I'm going to pack tomorrow--i sure hope my summer clothes still fit me ! LOL

A friend of mine had to have surgery last week and i made her a get well soon card.... here it is

I coloured this cutie with Copics : E41,42,43,44,47,49,BG11,72. I also stamped the kitty's head a second time, coloured it, and then pop dotted it over the original stamped image. This gave it a bit of dimension and i liked how it made the bandage stand out. The background is from Go Kreate, and i used Spellbinders and StampinUp punches. The flowers are a mix from my stash and so is the patterned paper--i believe it's Paper Loft--(miss that paper line)

I'm trying to get better at blogging more regularly. I find the weekends is when i really get a chance to create and post. Im going to try to post something mid-week...kinda just a fun post and then a card on the weekends. Lord knows my three mischievous cats entertain us enough and i have crazy stories about them to post LOL.... sorry for all you non-pet lovers hehehe..... I never had children, so im the crazy cat lady LOL...
I also am still learning how to put a watermark on my photos. A wonderful FB friend created one for me and i have yet to be able to use it !! ggrrr... perhaps that is my challenge when i get back from snowmobiling tonight.

Have yourselves a wonderful Sunday ! Thanks for stopping by and all comments are greatly appreciated :)
Happy crafting !!

Happy Vaneline's Day ~!

I want to wish everyone a Happy Valentine's Day !! Although every day should be Valentine's when it comes to showing how we feel about those we care deeply about, it's a day to remind us that if we have forgotten to do so throughout the year, we best not forget today. My hubby bought me flowers on Monday which was a surprise two-fold. First because he doesn't usually buy me flowers. I love them, don't get me wrong--but they are so darn expensive for something that dies so quickly (not to mention that our kitties tend to get themselves in BIG trouble when there's a vase of flowers on the table...) and secondly because he gave them to me on Monday. It's not that he didn't think i wasn't worth the TRIPLE cost of them on Valentine's Day, (his words, not mine...hehehe) but truly because i would be upset if he spent TRIPLE the money on flowers just because today is Valentine's Day. What he did do this morning though, is have a card on the kitchen counter waiting for me when i came downstairs. He always seems to find the right card. It spoke of exactly what's been going on in our lives lately.... made me cry. He's not always a 'sensitive' kinda guy, but i tell ya, when it comes to finding the 'right' card--he's got the knack and hits it bang on. Thank you for the flowers and the perfect card. xx

Now on to a funny note-- I had a customer today with the last name Doctor. I mentioned that she was the first person i've ever crossed paths with that had such an ordinary yet unique last name. She and I shared some giggles and she mentioned that some relatives were actual doctors...lol... paging Dr. Doctor....LOL... I told her to find the song "Doctor , Doctor give me the news....i got a bad case of lovin' you" and send it as a message to her husband today being Valentine's Day. She loved the idea and we shared some more giggles... too funny !! I hope she did it--i'm sure her hubby would get a kick out of it too.

I also made a card last weekend for my neice's husband. I have a hard time embellishing a guy's card.... hmmmm I have to work on that. I just don't feel like i can embellish with flowers on a guy's card. What do you use ?? suggestions welcome !!

I used a dog since they just got an adorable puppy--Roxi. She's a black lab and collie cross. She is sooooo cute. And she is Mark's first pet. So i thought a dog on his birthday card would be appropriate. I coloured with copics: E41,42,43,44,47,49 and added some glossy accents to his nose and eyes, and even a bit of stickles on the little heart on the collar. The buckle and dog tag are both from die-namics dies, and the background die is from go kreate.

Thanks for stopping by ! I appreciate all your comments.

I was on fire ....!!

Happy Monday all !! I was on FIRE this weekend... I had to be--I actually made TWO--that's right, TWO cards. LOL For those that know me, know how big of a deal that is. But I was on a roll ! I posted one card i made on Sunday and i've posted the other card i made a little later in this post.
I also have a couple funny pics of two of my cats. While i was blogging last night, Bella Blue jumped up on my craft table and laid down behind my laptop. When i stood up and said "hey, what are you doing up here!?" she promptly rolled over onto her back and just looked up at me with a 'oh-oh' expression. Of course once i saw her wee face looking up at me i caved and just let her sleep there. Which she did for at least a couple hours. Then i came downstairs to the living room to see Hershey on the couch on his back. Today is Hershey's birthday actually. He turns ONE. You would never think that if you saw him--he's HUGE ! His nickname is FatCat...LOL He's one big kitty and we love him. He entertains us to say the least.
Then to top it all off, i woke up in the middle of the night and could not stretch out my legs in bed. i sat up to see all THREE of them laying on the foot of MY SIDE of the bed. What's up with that?! I gave them each a wee bit of love to which Bella (in the middle) completely contorts herself and ends up cross-wise between Chevy and Hershey. These guys are crazy I tell ya. So what do i do....? i lay back down and go in to the fetal position so as not to disturb THEM! Something definitely wrong with this..LOL

This is Bella Blue caught on my table.....

This is Hershey making himself comfortable on the sofa......

And this is all 3 at the foot of the bed in the middle of the night...Glad i had my phone on the night table so i could catch this moment.

And now the card i made. The SECOND one ...! Wooohooo !!
I love this new Tilda. The newer ones now have long hair. I love it. I wanted to make a card with a different shape for the base. So i used the largest of the Stampin Up framelits. It ends up making the card about the size of an A2 card. I added some flowers from my stash. The lamp post is also Magnolia doohickey die and so is the wee tag.
I coloured her with Copics:  E000,00,70,71,74,77,R32,RV10,11,G12,20

Love crafty weekends....

Hello everyone ! Hope your weekend was most enjoyable. I know mine has been. Friday evening we went out for dinner with friends to celebrate a dear lady''s birthday... We went to the Mandarin, which is an all you can eat Chinese buffet. OY ! It was fabulous but i think i ate too much LOL. Here's a picture of Shirley wearing her special Birthday hat.
We shared good food, lots of laughs and sang Happy Birthday. Great times !!

Then on Saturday, i spent the day doing what i love to do....crafting.  i made a card to send to a lovely lady as part of my monthly card swap. I am so glad i was asked to be a part of this group. There are so many lovely ladies and so much talent. It's inspiring. I always look forward to seeing what these wonderful ladies have created.
Here's my creation for this weekend.

I used some old paper from my piles of patterned paper. LOL... it's an old Chatter Box. Anyone remember this line ? i miss it actually.
I used some flowers i had, and the flourish was a Memory Box die that i actually cut in pieces to use. Spellbinder oval dies and Magnolia Tilda were also used. Sorry i can't remember her name.

We also went to my parent's place for supper--homemade pizza-- YUMMY!! And we played a game of Pick Two. LOVE that game. It's kind of like scrabble only you use mini tile-cards and create your own scrabble board in a sense right in front of you. Holy did we LAUGH. My parents second language is English. So needless to say there were some unique words and creative spelling.....LMBO Gotta love family nights. I'm blessed to be able to see my parents often as they live close by. We like to get together often for a game night. Another fun memory... <3

On another note... here's what TWO of my mischievous kitties are doing while i am blogging and crafting. Bella, who sneaked up behind my laptop on my craft table rolled over on her back when i stood up and caught her there. What a stinker ! She has to always be near me....love her to bits. But she's still a stinker! And then there's Hershey. He sleeps in the bathroom sinks. He likes to be cool. And the porcelain sink offers that for him. He's a big kitty--no idea how or why he's so big! He really doesn't over eat -- must be in his genes LOL

Not sure where kitty #3 is (Chevy) so as far as i know, he's not in to mischief. Fingers crossed on that one.

Enjoy your Sunday everyone! Happy crafting and hope you stop by again.

Love is in the Air......

Wow, this was a rather productive weekend ! It was hubby's birthday on Saturday and his choice was to spend the day snowmobiling. So we drove 2 and a half hours north to where there was a bit more snow than here at home. I wish now that i had taken some pictures on the trails....can you say winter wonderland?! It was soooo pretty. The trees all had a few inches of snow on their branches and when they stretched over the trail overhead it made it look like an enchanted forest. And then there was the water coming out of the rock walls along some of the trails. It looked like frozen waterfalls. I'm glad we went. It was worth the agony i was in all day today LOL.... thank goodness my carpel tunnel is in my non-colouring hand !
Speaking of colouring...Love is in the air..... My parents are celebrating their 57th anniversary! Wowser!! They are such a wonderful example of what it means to truly live by the vows they took all those years ago. They have real moments--good and trying--and they work through them. Today's couples run before trying everything they can to work through the issues in their relationship. I congratulate my parents on being able to continue to learn from each other, help each other, grow together and most of all, LOVE each other. So in their honour, here's a cutie i coloured this morning for my parents anniversary. She's one of the new Magnolias. click here to check out the new stamps. I used the new papers from Authentique, memory box dies, spellbinder dies and the Magnolia doo hickey tag.
i coloured her with E000,00,31,35,41,42,43,44,47,R20,21,22,24,W5
Sorry the pictures seem a bit light... not sure why as they dont look like that in the file on my computer. And you may not be able to see, but this l'il sweetheart got a bit of sparkle on her arrows and head band along with some glossy accent on the bow.

Thanks for stopping by....

Snowy Sunday

Happy Sunday everyone ! It was a perfect day to stay indoors and craft. I even got up in the middle of the night and closed the bedroom window--the wind was howlin' so loud i couldn't sleep LOL. I like to keep the window open just a wee bit for some fresh air, but last night i couldn't take the whistling. Then when i woke up in the morning it was snowing. Nothing major, just a fine snow blowing around, but enough to decide it was a pajama craft day! Gotta love those days--i know I sure do!!
I went to a crop yesterday with some friends. It was a fun day--and i managed to get two, yes TWO cards finished ! That's not bad for me....LOL
Now remember, there is time taken for lunch and supper....socializing and plain 'ole staring at paper and not being able to decide what to do. LOL I'm no marathon card maker that's for sure! I see some of the beautiful works of art on some blogs i visit and WOW, if i tried to make something like those i would be at it for days LMBO ! Seriously--they are works of art.
I went outside for all of 3 minutes today. It was just long enough to put some food under the deck for the bunny. I didnt see any foot prints this morning, but the food i put out the other day looks to be gone from under the deck. I hope he is still around and thriving. Neil said if we lived up north I would probably want to feed the bears lol.... well, maybe not the bears, i said....but there would be plenty of other critters i would probably feed ! I just love animals--especially the warm and furry kind.....

So back to the crafty Sunday project. I made this card today. It's a Stamping Bella Uptown Girl. I coloured her with R01,R02,R05,E000,E00,E08,E21,E23,E25,Y23,Y32,Y26
I added some glitter to the trim on her dress. An 'uptown girl' HAS to have some glitter....KWIM ? I made the flowers myself using a die from Die-namics and a Martha Stewart punch.

Happy crafting !!
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful start to your week !
